Betty White wonderful on SNL
Betty White's hosting of "Saturday Night Live" was a splendid, sometimes-bawdy tour de force, proving why she's such a consummate professional. In skit after skit, White held her own, earned real laughs and taught her younger colleagues a lesson in learning your lines and not staring at the cue cards (an SNL sore spot that can ruin skits). White is an entertainment industry and pop cultural treasure, and it's one thing to recognize her career with an appearance but it's another for her to demonstrate again how great her talent has been for viewers over the years.
When you get older, you appreciate true longevity in a profession, and White put herself in elite company with her Facebook-fueled "SNL" appearance.
