North Haven guy in spotlight exiting Iraq

North Haven guy (and my nephew) David Kaman, left, received some international coverage as the last American combat brigade exited Iraq this week. He was on CNN's video feed, WTNH to led its Wednesday night broadcast, and his mom Andrea was interviewed for WTNH and WTIC-61 (see video). He's shown herein photo with buddy Adam, also from Connecticut, during a previous stint in the Mideast. The Register has covered Dave's purple heart incident (IED blast) and his occasional dispatches about life during his military service. Dave has told us he's just one of many, many soldiers trying to do their best to make the world a safer place.
