NBC unveiled premiere dates for three new and returning series for summer the other day:
“Love in the Wild” (Thursday, June 7, 8-10 p.m. ET)
“Saving Hope” (working title; Thursday, June 7, 10-11 p.m.)
G4’s “American Ninja Warrior” (Monday, May 21, 9-11 p.m. ET).
"American Ninja Warrior" will first premiere on G4 channelMay 20 (9-11 p.m. ET).
Jenny McCarthy will host (season two) of the adventure-dating series “Love in the Wild," which makes me want to hurl (but then, I don't watch dating shows).
“Saving Hope” is a new, hour-long original drama with Erica Durance (“Smallville”), Michael Shanks (“Stargate Atlantis”) and Daniel Gillies (“The Vampire Diaries”) Shanks plays Chief of Surgery Charlie Harris (Shanks) at Hope-Zion Hospital, he ends up in a coma, and leaves the hospital in chaos, not to mention his fiancée and fellow surgeon, Alex Reid (Durance). Newly arrived star surgeon, Joel Goran (Gillies), races to save Harris' life. The comatose Harris explores the hospital halls in “spirit” form. Yeah, sounds familiar.
G4 and NBC team both will air “American Ninja Warrior,” the obstacle course competition series. The networks collaborated with the original Japanese broadcaster, Tokyo Broadcasting System Television (TBS), to bring the competitive course over to the U.S., says NBC.
