Massive Foxwoods Resort Casino will mark its 30th anniversary in coming days, opening with an afternoon ceremony and media event on Feb. 15. Word is officials will  announce "a new partnership, expansion plans and additional exciting initiatives happening on property for guests."

Foxwoods opened on February 15, 1992 and has employed thousands of regional residents while handing over more than $4 billion in slot revenue to the state. In 1998, Foxwoods added a cultural landmark to honor the reservation’s tribal ancestors -- the Mashantucket Pequot Museum, which features 85,000 square feet of permanent, indoor exhibitions, highlighting “Life of the Reservation” and “The Pequot War,” as well as dioramas, films and interactive programs.
