24 plot scrapped; trouble at the Fox franchise

TV Guide says the "24" plans for the fall have been upended, as the plot included scenes in Africa that were going to be too expensive. Bedlam in the boardroom and writing rooms! I think Jack Bauer needs to burst in and threaten to torture Rupert Murdoch. And by "torture" I mean, make him watch Fox News for four hours straight.
