In Saturday's Register, we told you about printer Karen Brody Collett of Hamden and others donating to the Brown house project being built by "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Here's a just-in release from the builder, who needs help:
THE RACE TO THE FINISH:
We need your extreme help!
Bridgeport, Conn., July 30, 2007— In what seems like no time at all, the ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Gulick Associates, LLC team have laid the foundation, completed the exterior frame, installed windows and doors, and put up the drywall and sheetrock for the Brown house. But the race against the clock continues!
The construction crews have been working tirelessly for the past three days and nights, and now, we need the community’s help. We have reached a critical point in construction, and in order to make up some time lost due to the weather, the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition design time and the Gulick Associates are calling on the Connecticut community to step in and help the building effort. The crews have been working relentlessly, and the lack of sleep and heavy heat is beginning to take its toll. We are currently seeking skilled laborers to provide relief so that our crews can get some much-deserved rest before forging on to the finish. Specifically, we are seeking the following skilled laborers:
Exterior and interior painters – Monday, July 30
Pavers - Monday, July 30
Siding installers: Monday, July 30
Landscapers – Monday, July 30 – any time
Finishing plumbers – Monday, July 30, 9pm
Driveway installation – Monday, July 30, 9pm
Licensed electricians - Monday, July 30 – 9pm
Hardwood floors, Tuesday, July 31, 4am
If you are able to come and volunteer, please call Gulick Associates office at 203-966-7868 and someone will get in touch with you as quickly as possible to confirm your participation. Volunteers are asked to bring their own tools. As always we appreciate your support!

Donate to the Family Fund!
Gulick Associates, LLC has created the “Building a Family’s Extreme Dream Fund” that we hope you will support. We want to make sure that the ongoing expenses of the Brown family’s extreme dream home are provided for and that the costs of getting a college education are provided for. Every little bit helps; no donation is too large or too small.
Other volunteers as well as spectators are also welcome to join in on the action at the site. Directions and parking instructions can be found at http://www.gulickassociates.com/.
